Description
Great Expectations (1860-61) is Dickens’ thirteenth novel. It depicts the personal and moral development of an orphan named Pip. Marking a departure from his usual themes, this novel was written not so much as a decrial of social evils than as a meditation on morality and reform. It remains one of the most enduring novels in his oeuvre.
